Complin XIV.

Complin XIV.
On Low Sunday at Complin. Turn us, then. O God, make speed. Glory be to the Father, &c.

Antiphon. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. Psalm. Hear me. In Thee, O Lord. Whoso dwelleth. Behold now.

Chapter Thou, O Lord.

Hymn.(H.N. 30 or 57).

Jesu, Who brought'st redemption nigh,

Word of the Father, God most High,

O Light of Light, to man unknown,

And watchful guardian of Thine own.

Thy Hand creation made and guides;

Thy wisdom time from time divides;

By this world's cares and toils oppress,

O give our weary bodes rest.

That while in frames of sin and pain

A little longer we remain,

Our flesh may here in suchwise sleep,

That watch with Christ our souls may keep.

O free us while we dwell below,

From insults of our ghostly foes,

That he may ne'er victorious be

O'er them that are redeemed by Thee.

We pray Thee, King with glory deck'd,

In this our Paschal joy, protect

From all that death would fain effect,

Thy ransomed flock, Thine own Elect.

To Thee, who dead, again doth live,

All glory, Lord, Thy people give;

All glory, as is ever meet,

To Father and Paraclete. Amen.

P. Keep us.

Antiphon. Alleluia, The Lord is Risen, Alleluia, as he said unto you, Alleluia, Alleluia. Psalm, now lettest.

Here follow the Preces.

This Complin is not changed until the Ascension, of whatever the service may be, except when it is of S. Mary; for then at the end of the Hymn the verse, We pray Thee, King with glory decked, is said with the verse.

All honour, laud, and glory be,

O Jesu Virgin-born, to Thee;

All glory as is ever met,

To Father, and to Paraclete. Amen.

But the Antiphon over the Psalms is said till Trinity Sunday.
