Complin II.

Complin II.

On Christmas Eve, let one of the superior grade being the Antiphon over the Psalm. Be ye ready, like unto men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedding. Psalm. here me and the other customary Psalms.

Chapter. Thou, O Lord.

Hymn

Redeemer of the world we pray,

Thou, who hast kept us safe to-day,

be Thou to-night our watch and ward,

and evermore from evil guard.

Be present graciously to hear,

And spare us as we pray in fear,

Wash Thou our guilty stains away,

Illumine our darkness with Thy ray.

O let not sleep the foul oppress,

Nor Satan with his wickedness;

And, we beseech Thee, let no guile

Our flesh with taint to sin defile.

Thee who alone canst purify,

We supplicate with heart-felt cry,

That chaste in foul and clean from Stain,

We from our beds may rise again.

All laud to God the Father be,

All laud eternal Son to Thee,

All laud, as is forever met,

To God the Holy Paraclete. Amen

P. Keep us.

Antiphon. Watch ye all, and pray, for ye know not when the time is. Watch ye, therefore, for ye know not when the master of the hose cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock-crowing, or in the morning; lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping. Psalm. Lord, Now Letteth.
